NBA Draft

With the season over and the draft going into gear their are two heavy favorites that are most likely going to go first and second pick. Evan Turner and John Wall have proven themselves worthy of going to the NBA. Turner won the award for best all-around player in college basketball. Also, for the Kentucky Wildcats they are losing five players, but the head coach says it happens all the time. I believe that college athletes should go to college at least two years before going professional. What is your opinion on the NBA draft and one and done players?

CHAMPIONS!!!

What a 2010 national championship game. This one came down to the wire. Duke was up by one with about 13 seconds left. Butler's Haywood missed the shot long and Zoubek got the rebound and was fouled. He made the first and missed the second on purpose. Haywood got the ball and threw up a shot from midcourt. He hit the backboard and took long off the rim. The Duke Blue Devils won the national championship 61-59. Again, the big three carried Duke by scoring 47 out of 61 points. Duke’s dominance on the boards at the end proved Duke had the stronger edge. I believe Duke has answered the called about being a #1 seed in the tournament. Duke’s Brian Zoubek had a very solid game collecting 8 points and 10 rebounds. For Coach K this is his 4th national championship. What are you opinion on Duke as a national champion and the championship game overall? This game was really a “One Shining Moment.”

Preview of Finals

Tonight is the night! Two team go at it for a national championship; Butler and Duke. This is going to be a great game. Duke's big guys, shooting, guards, and coaching against Butler's shooting and guards. Duke has a big advantage with the big guy's, but Butler has a 25 game winning streak going into the game. I think keys for each team is, Duke: the big 3 have to be amazing, crash the boards, and take care of the boards to win and Butler needs to shooting the ball great, get Haywood involved a lot, block out, and guards handling Duke's guards. Which ever team accomplishes these goals will win this game. What's your opinion ad thought on the championship game?

SemiFInals

WOW! What a Final Four. In the first game, Butler vs. Michigan State it was close throughout the whole game. For Butler, Haywood was carrying the Bulldogs the whole game. This game came down to the wire and they Michigan State was down by 3 when Butler fouled with 2 seconds left. Lucious hit the first free throw to cut the lead to 2, but when he tried to miss the 2nd Butler got the rebound and is going to the national championship game. I think Butler had deserved to make it all the way with heart and great play every game. In the 2nd semifinal game it was West Virginia and Duke. In the start of the game this game was close and both team were playing well. Duke was up by 8 at half. When the 2nd half started it was close until 5 min in Duke just exploded off and when on a big run. Duke went up by 15 when a scary moment happened. Da’Sean Butler got hit on the side of the knee and went down. He couldn’t get up to Bob Huggins like a great coach he is went over and embraced him like a son because he was one of the best players he has ever coached. Duke ended up winning the game by 21 and will now play for the national championship since 2001 against the “home team” Butler Bulldogs. The big three carried Duke again who scored 63 out of 78 points. What your opinion on these two games?

Duke vs. West Virginia

On the other side of the bracket it is the one seed Duke and the two seed West Virginia. For West Virginia they had a tougher road than Duke to get to Indy. They got through the first two rounds with easy, but only beat Washington and the one seed Kentucky by 7. They are going to have a tough time handling Duke’s guards because their point guard, Darryl Bryant, who broke his foot in practice. One advantage they had is the size. They had a two guard three forward set, but Kevin Jones for the Mountaineers could easily play the guard spot. To win the game I think they need to hit their three point shots and box out. One problem they have is fouling, so Duke had the huge advantage because they shot better than 77% as a team from the free throw line. For Duke, it’s all about the big three. Nolan Smith, Jon Scheyer, and Kyle Singler have to keep like they have throughout the tournament. Another advantage Duke has is offensive rebounds leading to open three for their shooters like Scheyer, Singler, Smith and Dawkins. Brian Zoubek, Lance Thomas, and the Plumlee brothers will give Duke second and third chance opportunities. In comparison between in year playing in big games like this Coach Krzyzewski has more experience than Bob Huggins head coach of West Virginia. In the end I think it will com e down the free throws and Duke had the advantage so I think they win by 5 and go to the national championship game. What's your opinion the two games?

Butler vs Michigan State

On one side of the bracket it is the Butler Bulldogs and the Michigan State Spartans. The only difference between the two is this is first time Butler is in the Final Four, but for Michigan State they were here last year. Even though Michigan State has the experience, Butler has played better and beating the 1 and 2 seeds Syracuse and Kansas State. With the play of Hayward and Mack at the point this team is really hard to beat. With Michigan State, they have the great play of Morgan, Summers, and Lucious to stop the two superstars on Butler. I believe this game is going to come down to the wire, but in the end I think the championship game will be the Butler Bulldogs vs. the Duke Blue Devils.

Final Four

The Final Four is set. Four teams are headed to Indianapolis: #1 Duke, #2 West Virginia, #5 Michigan State, and #5 Butler. Three number one seeds and two number two seeds are out. What are your thoughts on the teams this year in the final four? The cinderellas - Saint Mary's, Northern Iowa and Cornell are now out - so no more dreaming, as is the overall top seed in the tournament - Kansas - gone in the 2nd round. Even though this is the first time since 2004 that Duke has reached the Final Four, I believe Duke has the best shot to win it all because of the great coaching by Coach K, the outstanding playing of Nolan Smith, Jon Scheyer, and Kyle Singler. These three have carried this team throughout the season and the tournament. Finally, Duke is my choice simply because I think they are the hungriest team out there - but that's just my opinion. What's yours?
